he Solicitors Regulation Authority has intervened into PM Law and its network of firms after the group suddently put up the shutters this week.

In a series of notices posted on the SRA website on Wednesday evening, the regulator said it was necessary to intervene to protect the interests of clients or former clients, and the interests of beneficiaries of any trust held by the firms.

The SRA had been under pressure to take decisive action beyond its statement on Monday that it had received calls suggesting the firm had ‘not closed in the manner we would expect’ and that partners were being contacted to find out what was happening.

In a new statement, the SRA said it was alerted to the unexpected closure of PM Law Ltd and associated firms on Monday and launched an immediate investigation, contacting the company to make sure client interests are protected.
